Love God’s Law for Great Peace
Love God’s law for great peace. Living for God is such a blessing. His commandments are not burdensome. His yoke is easy and His burden is light. Let’s begin with some Bible verses.
“Great peace have those who love Your law, And nothing causes them to stumble.”
Psalms 119:165
“For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome.”
I John 5:3
“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.””
Matthew 11:28-30
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
Philippians 4:13
Choose to live His way
When we choose to follow Jesus and to live His way, by His commandments, we have great peace. We have peace knowing that we are in the will of God. We no longer carry guilt and shame.
What a blessing! This peace is worth it!
Submit fully to Him
It’s worth denying your flesh. You can’t do it on your own, so submit yourself fully to Him and pray for the Holy Spirit to guide you every morning.
Bear the Fruit of Self-Control
When we truly have the Holy Spirit working in us and we are sensitive to Him and obedient, the fruit of the Spirit will be evident, including self-control. When we LOVE His law we will have Great Peace!
Love God’s Law and Have Great Peace
Love God’s law because it sets you free from the burden of sin and shame and gives you great peace instead. Loving the law, like loving God and others, will cause you to walk differently and behave differently than those that live for themselves and in the way that the world leads them to. This is good for you ultimately, because loving God’s way protects you from things that bring guilt and shame. Love His law for great peace.
““Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.””
Matthew 22:36-40 ESV
His commandments are not burdensome. The burden comes when there is shame and guilt from disobedience. Loving His law sets you free from that and gives you great peace. Then, nothing can cause you to stumble.

Also, know that while we love His law, we are not perfect. We are not saved by our works, but by grace through faith.
“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand
that we should walk in them.”
Ephesians 2:8-10

Love God’s law, and have great peace!
