7 Reasons to Stay Home More

Being home all the time is not something most people understand. It seems like everyone is always on the go. But the longer that I have been a stay at home mom and wife, the more that I’ve realized that things run so much smoother when I just stay home. Here’s a list of 7 reasons that I think home is a wonderful place to be!

1. Feeding Everyone

Scalloped Potatoes

Feeding everyone is so much easier, healthier, and less expensive from home. At home, everyone in the family is able to eat from a stocked pantry and refrigerator and you’re able to prepare healthy meals. When you’re always on the go, the temptation and tendency to eat out, pull through a drive-thru, and sort of eat whatever is much worse. This is tough on our bodies and our wallets.

2. Saving Money

When you’re home, you can find fun things to do to entertain yourself. When you’re trying to have fun away from home- most of those fun things cost money. Just have fun at the house and watch your bank account grow!

3. Increased Productivity

You can get things done when you’re home to do them. When you’re always out of the house, things that need to get done at home get forgotten and neglected because you’re not there to do them.

4. Time with Family

When you’re home, you and your family can spend quality time together. You can give your full attention to your husband and your children and to meeting their needs. You have more time to hang out together with less time spent other places.

5. You Can Make Your Home a Custom Oasis

Your home can be customized and optimized to fit your needs. I don’t mean in some expensive, fancy way necessarily, but I mean just make it work best for you and your family.

If you never have guests overnight, but you have toddlers, make the extra bedroom into a play room. If you homeschool, maybe your dining room is now the classroom.

Being home more gives you the time to shape the home into what you need it to be and keep it that way.

6. Being home gives you time to learn new things

You could learn new homemaking skills while you are home like:

  • canning
  • gardening
  • sewing
  • cooking
  • baking
  • and so much more!

7. Save time

Time spent driving to and from places adds up. Have you ever gone to the store and it seemed like your whole day was gone even though you only went to one or two places? It just ends up adding up- time at read lights, on the road, stopping for gas, etc. when you just stay home, you can avoid all these time wasters.

Stay home and enjoy it!

As keepers of the home, we can make our homes our favorite place to be! Home is a place to enjoy time with family, spend time with the Lord, enjoy amazing meals, have fun with favorite hobbies, and really whatever you want it to be! It’s a blank slate waiting for you to make it into an amazing place. Make it a place that your family loves to be. Make it a place where love radiates from within. Home is a great place to be!
